Team.  Chris will discuss what Watson does, how it does it, and what this means for the future. Chris Welty (RPI ’85) has an intimate knowledge of Watson, why it was built, how it works, and how IBM sees its value. He is a research staff member at IBM Watson Research Center, an Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) Distinguished Lecturer and member of editorial boards for AI Magazine , The Journal of Applied Ontology , and The Journal of Web Semantics .
